About the family
von Krusenstierna is a multi-headed Swedish noble family , ennobled in 1649 and introduced in 1650 under No. 460.
The Krusenstierna family has its origin in Germany. The head of the family was reverend Johannes Krause, dead 1558. His grandson Philip Crusius began to work under Swedish employment in Reval in Estonia (today Tallinn) in year 1644. Estonia was then under Swedish governmental reign. He was appointed assesor at Bailment and later appointed Governor of Estonia, for Sweden. In 1649 he was knighted by queen Victoria of Sweden.
The family is made of several branches with family members resident in Sweden , Germany , Poland , Russia , USA , Australia and Canada .
There are several variations of the name: von Krusentierna, von Krusenstjerna, Krusenstjerna, Krusen, Cruse, von Krusenstiern, von Krusestjern and von Krusenstern.
